Cornwall Surfer Girls Win Funding Bid

Cornwall Surfer Girls club has won £500 of sponsorship from Mars Refuel, one of only 20 out of 2500 applicants to succeed in their bid. The money will be spent on brand new Swell boards to support the coaching of novice surfers.

Is Michelle Parker Prepared for the K2 Pink Chase Fundraiser?

K2 and their all-woman Alliance team sure know how to kick off the ski season the right way! Along with brand sponsors Smith, A-Basin, Polar, and Helly Hansen, these hardcore ski chicks will be teaming up to help fight breast cancer and show off their stamina and skills as they ski an ungodly amount of vertical feet in 6 hours. I was lucky enough to chat with team member Michelle Parker about everything from the event’s beginnings to her preparations for it.

Breast Cancer Fundraiser at Steel City

The Women’s Motocross Association will be holding a live auction fundraiser at the final round of the Toyota AMA Motocross Championship on Saturday August 30th to raise money for Shasta Johnson’s Breast Cancer 3-Day walk team. Come on out and join Bevo Forti, Rocket Rob Buydos and the WMA racers .

The Moores UCSD Cancer Center today announced the 15th Annual Luau & Longboard Invitational will be held at The Scripps Institution of Oceanography on August 24, 2008 beginning at 7 a.m. The Luau & Longboard Invitational has established a unique international reputation for combining the “aloha” spirit of surfing with the business and scientific community in the fight against cancer.
