Kacey Curtis of Spotsylvania now has a good idea how the owners and supporters of racehorse Big Brown felt after his disappointing finish at Belmont. The 13-year-old Thornburg Middle School student was riding high following six consecutive firsts in motos in the Area and Regional qualifying competition, but settled for the second-place trophy at the AMA Amateur National Championships held last week.

Brook Thiemann and Courtney Knight of the Queensland Yamaha Girls team annihilated the competition under lights at Reedy Creek on Saturday night at the 2008 Go Girls Gathering with both girls putting their YZ250F’s on the top step of the podium in their respective classes.

There’s a new gold medal in town, and it belongs to Tarah Gieger. The 22-year-old Vero Beach native was part of an elite group of 10 professional women Motocross riders who were invited to compete during the inaugural Women’s Moto X racing contest Saturday in Los Angeles.

It was an exciting display of thrills and spills in the first ever display of Women’s Moto X Racing here at The Home Depot Center.
