Hello everyone,

It has been snowing everywhere in Europe and I have just been traveling like a mad woman, I went to les 2alpes where I received the Award of the best French international rider (with both male and female riders) I guess they gave me that just because they still don’t know that I am French.. for those of you who didn’t know it yet, I have 3 passports, I am French, I am swiss, and I am Liechtensteinerin.. That’s a mini country between Austria and Switzerland..

ESPN X Games Announces First Wave of Athletes Invited to Winter X Games 13

Winter X GamesThe 13th annual winter action sports competition will feature more than 160 men and women from across the globe competing for medals and prize money in the following sports: Skiing, Snowboard and Snowmobile. The event includes day and evening competitions and is free to the public.

Among the first wave of invited athletes:

Northstar Resort Welcomes Elena Hight to Professional Freestyle Snowboard Team

Elena HightElena Hight, one of the nation’s top female riders, has joined the Northstar Resort Professional Freestyle Team and will represent the resort as she competes in all three stops of the inaugural AST Winter Dew Tour and other high profile events this winter. Hight, a South Lake Tahoe local, is the first female professional rider to join the team which includes other professional snowboarders including Jeremy Jones, Jussi Oksanen, Todd Richards, Chas Guldemond, Andy Finch, Eero Ettala and Heikki Sorsa. These athletes regularly represent Northstar Resort at prestigious events and in snowboard videos distributed worldwide.

COVERGIRL SNOW ANGELS INVITATIONALThe second annual CoverGirl Snow Angels Invitational, hosted by Aspen/Snowmass, will once again be held in Snowmass, April 3 – 5, 2009.

Confirmed riders for this season’s event include: Gretchen Bleiler, Hannah Teter, Kelly Clark, Elena Hight, Torah Bright, Clair Bidez, Paulina Ligocka, Sarah Conrad, Meg Pugh, Ellery Hollingsworth, Mercedes Nicoll, Dominique Valle and Soko Yamaoka.

The event will feature a Superpipe contest, photo and filming opportunities for the media as well as lifestyle activities for the riders such as a spa day, yoga classes and a girl’s night out on the town.

FUEL TV GOES UNDERGROUND THIS WINTER WITH MOUNTAIN DEW

Fuel TV“Dew Underground: Winter” creates unprecedented media experience highlighting culture surrounding the Winter Dew Tour.

Coverage begins on FUEL TV December 23, 2008 at 9:00pm ET/PT.

ESPN’s Winter X Games 13 Adds Women’s Skiing Slopestyle

Winter X GamesWinter X Games 13, to be held January 22-25, 2009 in Aspen/Snowmass, Colo., and aired live on ESPN and ABC, will feature new events, a new superpipe and enhanced coverage across ESPN platforms.  New discipline will make their debut – Women’s Skiing Slopestyle .  For the first time at Winter X Games, snowboarders and skiers will ride a 22-foot superpipe.  Fifteen hours of live programming on ESPN and ABC will be offered as well as Winter X Games 13 coverage on ESPN International, EXPN.com, ESPN360.com, SportsCenter and ESPN2’s X Center.

Women’s Skiing Slopestyle will feature the top eight skiers in the world competing on a variety of rails and jumps. Each skier will take two runs, and their best run will determine their final ranking.  Snowmobile Best Trick will feature three athletes.  Each athlete will take two jumps and will be judged by the fans in Aspen and those watching on television.  The athlete who receives the most fan votes will take home the gold medal.

Against The Grain, A Tara Dakides Documentary Premieres

The real life story of one of snowboarding’s most celebrated athletes, Tara Dakides, hits core snow stores across the country Tuesday, November 25th. Against the Grain, narrated by Alecia ‘Pink’ Moore and directed by award-winning filmmaker Josh Landan, documents Tara as she overcomes amazing obstacles and many career- threatening injuries to become one of the most influential female snowboarders of our time. Her story is one of determination to overcome the confusion of growing up on her own and following her heart.  From her darkest experiences to her most beloved accomplishments, Against the Grain reveals the life-changing moments that made her who she is today.  Tara Dakides, one of the most decorated gold medal athletes of the X Games, is ready to share her story for the first time.
