Another epic day of waves greeted competitors for day two of the Na Papa Australian Surfmasters Titles, heralding dominant performances from Australia’s best. It was the Open Men and Women who shone the brightest, with the standard of surfing matching the near-perfect two metre conditions.

2009 PacSun USA Surf Team announced after impressive surfing display

Surfing America, the national governing body for the sport of surfing, is excited to name eight new USA Surfing Champions after the youth divisions wrapped up in two-to-four foot Huntington Beach, CA surf. After six days of competition at the SIMA Surfing America USA Championships presented by PacSun, the new PacSun USA Surf Team was also announced.

Alizee Arnaud wins Billabong Pro Jr Ericeira

2408_billabong_pro_junior_eib.jpgThe Billabong Pro Junior, an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Grade-2 Men and Women’s Pro Junior event, came to an end today at the beautiful beach of Ribeira d’Ilhas (PRT) and got the 2008 ASP European Junior Championship closer to its end as one two events remain in the women’s division and one only in the men’s before the champion is crowned.

Candice Appleby wins C4 Waterman/Honolua Surf Co Pro

candice-appleby.jpgIn another first for the sport of stand-up paddle (SUP) surfing, the major honors for the C4 Waterman/Honolua Surf Co competition, presented by Blue Planet, went to a woman today. Waikiki’s Candice Appleby out-performed a field of world-class SUP surfers to win both the pro division and the women’s category. Among Appleby’s casualties in the pro ranks were Brian Keaulana (Makaha), Noland Martin (Makaha), and Noah Shimabukuro (Kula, Maui).
