Back on her native soil following the World Cup mountain bike tour through Europe, Nanaimo’s Wendy Simms placed first in the 67-kilometre North Shore Credit Union Test of Metal Race on Saturday in Squamish. Her winning time of 2:56:35 in the elite women’s division beat the previous course record set of 3:10 by Alison Sydor in 2005.
