Two rising stars of the underground scene, Skelanimals and Cool Girls Decks, are pairing up to produce a collection of girls’ skateboards. The licensing deal gives Cool Girls the worldwide manufacturing and distribution rights for the cool new line of boards, which will be marketed and designed by Skelanimals.

“We’re excited to be working with such a forward-thinking company such as Skelanimals, and we couldn’t be happier for the opportunity to bring another brand of skateboards geared toward girls to the marketplace,” said Frank Davern, founder of Cool Girl Decks.

The partnership agreement melds the best of two brands and will expand the girls’ skateboard market into retail outlets where it has previously not had a presence. Skelanimals clothing and accessories are currently sold in more than 3,000 retail outlets, including specialty chains Tilly’s and Hot Topic and boutiques such as Fred Segal.

The deal is the first international partnership for Cool Girls Decks, which has been successfully designing and distributing its own skateboards for five years. The new line of decks will be available in retail outlets worldwide and online at CoolGirlsDecks.com.

Cool Girls Decks is an avid promoter and supporter of girls’ skateboarding. Their skate team features some of the world’s top female riders, including Holly Lyons, who competes in the X Games and national competitions.
