The Nikita Chickita Is Set!
It’s a busy weekend for snowboard contests, but if you’re in California there’s really only one place to be this Saturday, February 9th: The Nikita Chickita at Mammoth Mountain. For girls it’s the only slopestyle contest happening (just a rail jam for the ladies at Vail) and for boys it’s the best chance you’ll have of hanging out with cute girls — there are over 80 of them already registered!
The Mammoth park crew will be shaping the South Park Terrain park special for the event, and it’s going to include a little bit of everything. Don’t worry we aren’t just sizing things down for the girls; we’re making sure everything is perfect!
Our awesome sponsors have also come through with more product then we can fit in our cars (seriously, we’re having some of it shipped directly to Mammoth!). There are K2 snowboards, Fender Guitars, shoes from DVS, boots from 32, and tons of goodies from Active Ride Shop, all of which we’ll be giving away.
But don’t forget the best part of the Nikita Chickita: We’ve got the paperwork ready for the winner of the amateur division’s one-year Nikita sponsorship! That’s a year of free Nikita street wear and outerwear (if you didn’t get to see the line in Vegas or San Diego, let me tell you with great certainty, there are a lot of things you’ll want.).
Make sure you get plenty of sleep on Friday night because Saturday is going to go off! Registration begins at 8:00 on February 9th in Roma’s Room on the 3rd floor of the Mammoth Main Lodge. Yes, we know you already registered online, but get there early so we can give you your goodie bag and take care of some boring paperwork.
Once the final tricks are thrown and the awards are awarded the party will move to Lakanuki where the Oakland-based electro pop band The Lovemakers will take the stage. The party starts at 9 p.m., but sorry kids, this part is 21+.
So if you haven’t already secured a floor to crash on, you haven’t signed up, or you made other plans, get your act together and come to Mammoth this weekend for the USA version of the Nikita Chickita!
