Buckley wins day after Alex’s great aerial display
After a couple of false starts the annual Northern Beaches Regional Open titles finally took place with great waves on offer at Dee Why last Saturday. The most notable thing that emerged from this year’s event was the performance level of the younger brigade with all four finalists fresh out of the pro-junior ranks. An exciting array of Northern Beaches female surfing talent hit the road last week, heading to Lennox Head for the annual All Girls Surf Showdown and what a weekend it was with some massive results coming our way. Newly-crowned world under-18 champion Laura Enever was in devastating form claiming the Open’s crown before backing it up with a second placing in the 21s division.
