Australian teenager Tyler Wright yesterday became the youngest ever winner of a world surfing tour event, with seven-times world champion Layne Beachley describing the shock result as a “victory for women’s surfing”, after she edged out Brazilian Silvana Lima to take out the Beachley Classic.
