Matched up together in the Open Women’s Division, Daisy Thomas (Chch) and Jessica Santorik (Rag found themselves finishing their heat in third and fourth place respectively and they were eliminated from the event.  In a low scoring battle both surfers only needed 4.0 point rides to progress but could not find the tricky beach break waves to advance.  Thomas finished 25th overall while Santorik finished 31st.
